Una serie di interessanti video sulle acustiche. Parlano anche di un "trattamento" sulle chitarre e mostrano l'effetto del trattamento (audio prima e dopo). Ottimi chitarristi all'opera e bellissime chitarre

Don't get me wrong... his process did not transform my Collings into a Traugott or Walker. It took my 3 year old guitar and transformed it into the same thing, just more open and "older" sounding, if that makes sense. It still sounds like a Collings CJ, but now it sounds like a well aged Collings CJ. It has continued to improve since I got it back, although not as noticeable as it was from the original treatment, but it has continued to open up much more so than I have typically found with a guitar over the course of 6 or 8 weeks.

Have you seen the threads on AAL and their guitar “treatments”? Well, there is also another person, Mike Masterson, that is doing something similar (or identical… not sure). Their processes are supposed to crystallize the resins in the wood, essentially making them age like a guitar normally would over a period of 100 years in about 10 days. I contacted Mike when he posted some of his results on AGF because I was intrigued by his results, which to my ear seemed to be more prolific than what AAL was able to get with their process. After talking with him for about 2 weeks, he agreed to treat one of my guitars for free (normal price is $449, which includes return shipping), and I was able to swing the same deal for Andy based on the two of us writing reviews on the different forums as to what we experienced after his treatment. I shipped him my Collings CJ (adi/hog/varnish) which I got back last week, and Andy was shipping him his Martin this week. I’ve got to tell you… I am literally BLOWN AWAY by the results. So much so, I just sent him another guitar to process that a buddy just built for me… it’s an adi/Honduran RW thin body dread. Before treatment, my Collings was a really nice guitar and arguably the best CJ I have ever played. It compared favorably to my D-18 Authentic and Walker, but the Authentic and Walker were a bit more powerful and much louder. After treatment, the Collings is louder than both of them, it is fuller sounding than the Martin (on par with the Walker), has a much better treble than it had before, it has a more defined bass and killer mids, and has developed a nice complexity to the note. And did I mention sustain?!? The Collings really did not have much sustain before, which I thought was its weakest link. Now, the sustain is off the charts! It is in the category of my Somogyi & Traugotts… simply amazing. I cannot wait to hear how the process affects the dreadnought my buddy Dave made me that I just shipped out! I will be writing a full review in the next few weeks to post online. I am going to wait to post it until Mike gets his website up and running, because the “nay sayers” will simply bash the process and results without scientific measurements of the before/after recording clips of the guitar Mike had done in a studio that he’s getting mixed down and will be on the site. I will keep you posted as to the “burn in” process now with the Collings, which he says takes about a month. I have the tonerite on it at the moment while I’m at work. I took 2 days away from the guitar this week and left it on the tonerite, just to see if my ears really could notice a change in the guitar of if it was just my imagination and I only played my Traugotts, Walker & Tippin. Well, I went back to the Collings 2 nights ago and I confirmed that the results are real. This Collings is as good as anything I own, albeit different because it’s a dread, but it’s definitely in that upper realm at this point, whereas before it was a nice guitar to jam with and let people play when them came over but it simply was not anything special in the company of my other guitars.
